Snowy, crappy, crappy day. Barometer steady around 29.9 and temp is below freezing. Snow is going to be around for a while. So I am housebound. Last thing I need is a broken hip.
Living within your means. Boy is that shit out of date. It seems that folks have taken to the idea that you define what they want their lifestyle to be and then scramble like maniacs to maintain. Now this isn't true across the board, but IMHO I think that the percentage of these grasshoppers is just slightly above 50%.
Now, before you start thinking that I have always been of the "sensible" flavor and have lived within my means, please let me disabuse you of that thought. I spent the time between my 20's and my 40's having fun and delaying the costs. Luckily the crash of 2000 woke me up. It took eight years of pain to work through the issues.
There have always been grasshoppers. I spent some time being one. My only point is that the grasshopper/ant ratio now seems to be almost 50/50 which is kind of high. I tend to think that the ratio will be reverting to the mean in the none-too-distant future. I see the mean as being around 70/30 ant/grasshopper.
But, always remember, I have been wrong a lot and maybe I am just fretting because I am snowbound.
