I think that the methods used to increase the funding for an already bloated and ineffective military are getting almost ridiculous. As an extreme example, the latest media campaign for the UFO “menace” that the military is shopping around to the media.

Now, I can’t really say that this “report” impressed me. Looks to me to be a request for bigger funding and more “research”. As far as these things go, it would appear to be more benign than most of the funding going into the pentagon. Might even keep some senior officers occupied and not out trying to stir up wars.
Mostly I find the idea of UFO’s to be a fun pastime. Like religion, it doesn’t do that much harm and might even do some good. I wouldn’t be all that disappointed if the guv’mint threw some nickels their way.
But my favorites are the space alien UFO crowd. I just really think that they have been watching too fucking many bad movies. Suppose for example that these are critters different from us? Think about that buckaroo. Just exactly what the fuck are we going to do about it other than accept the fact that we aren’t alone in the universe and that we don’t appear to be the pinnacle of god’s creation. If these things have the performance characteristics advertised, and they come from another planetary system, well buckaroos, then we better damn well hope that they are a passel of alien sociologists here to study primitive cultures because if they are here to conquer us, we have already lost.
I am guessing though that this is a pretext to find out that these are Rooshun or Chinee threats and will require even more study and research to counter.
