So, I did manage to sneak in the J&J vax, got it last Friday.  Feel fine now.  Feeling that life is good.  I can’t really say that the vax will make my life better, but as I wrote earlier, the whole deal is about risk.  Now that the CDC has decided to “pause” the J&J vaccine because six people of the approximately seven million folks who have taken the vaccine have have had blood clots.  One has died, one is in the hospital.

One in a million. 

All of them were female, between the ages of 18 and 48. 

So I really don’t have much to sweat, seems as though I might be out of the demographic.

But I am kinda thinking that this whole little escapade that I call the Rona might be one of the saddest affairs in my life.  When in God’s name did we become such utter pussies?

Now, I think that the Rona has offed quite a number of old folks and a smattering of young ‘uns.  I think that this is a sad thing, it really doesn’t quite ramp up into the realm of tragedy though.  I think that any vaccines of any types come with some backlash and will certainly make some folks dead.   It is the nature of any treatment/prophylaxis that nothing is without risk.

But here in the land of the free, we cannot accept any risk.  We have this odd idea that we should be allowed to live an obscene long time and die in our sleep when the doctor tells us to.  

I can’t feel too sympathetic for anyone who is freaking out about death.  Last time I looked, that door is there at the end of the hallway for all of us.  No need to go running down the hall to open it, but there is no reason to try and stop and close your eyes and pretend the door isn’t there.
