Heading over to The Dalles to look at it as a roosting spot. A CBOC there and a pretty nice area. I wish that there was a bar open so that I could quiz some of the locals. SO today is just sight-seeing and other such fripperies.

Spent yesterday pondering and waiting for something to gel in my head. Well, that didn't pan out the way I wanted, did it? I am just as stuck on dead center as I was when I started. Sigh.

In the past I would have surfed this wave just fine. Truth be told, I will surf this one just fine as well. There are options open to me that there are a bunch of folks would love to have. All I am complaining of is the first world problems of how to ride out the storm.

Other than that, I am not really planning anything of note. Gonna drink some coffee, gonna drive a little too much, gonna think.

Hello. Used to live in Stevenson WA and shopped in The Dalles. It seems like a very pleasant place; compared to Stevenson, it was "going to town." Good food, good beer, good architecture, good views.

Down in Springfield now, from where I will be reading your interesting posts. That barge is very nice.

Critical Demographic

It seems there will still be individuals carrying and transmitting COVID-19 just about everywhere when restrictions are lifted to unleash the economy; thus, one might be wise to avoid the places that pose the highest risk. So, the question is, what are the places to avoid?

If you are considering moving to a small town somewhere, probably the worst places will be the town’s churches and bars. For a gentleman of your persuasion, the familiar small-town demographic of the ratio of bars to churches might therefore be a more important consideration than ever.

Whereas you might normally prefer a high number, these days you might want to reconsider. Having a beer on Sunday at the only bar while the whole town is at church will be safe, and it will save you a lot of effort figuring out who in town might be interesting, and who you should stay clear of.
