Good weekend: Accomplished stuff and had good "thinks" a going might even branch out and take another "process" on to keep my brain up and running. No update on this. As usual, it is a sciencey thing, but I really can't imagine me taking off on an "artsy" or "literature" thing. Nope you gotta dance with who brung ya. New beer patch is pitched and ready to get going. Fully experimental, a bitter with ginger and a little bit of burned. I am kinda looking forward to it. Writing this while waiting for the washer (recently endowed with dirty and quarters) to complete it's share of the task.
Todays Screed
Paul calls them chores. Most people hate them. I will call them chores because that appeals to the hillbilly redneck roots that are a source of pride. You know, the same sin that cast Lucifer from heaven.
But truth of the matter, a lot of the problems that we are facing has to do with our socially-induced loathing of these homely tasks. All the energy usage and the consumerism is bent around the idea of reducing these chores and replacing the time spent with a purchased frippery that usually ends up being cast away for the next flavor of the month.
Laundry and baking and walking down to the farmers market for vegetable and reading and vacuuming. Those are what will take my time today. I will answer some e-mails and toss down a hour or two off billable time. I think that the change that will need to be made in the psyche of the people is to convince them that this kind of activity is every bit as rewarding as searching for the elusive "Recreation" and "Happiness" so assiduously peddled by our corporate overlords.
