Expressionism / Bui Xuan Phai/ Hanoi Street, ND

Well, I am working on the whole retired thing.  It still has rough edges.

I realize that this sounds stupid, but I am having to learn how to procrastinate better than I do.  I spent the last thirty years living by the words of an old sergeant of mine.

“If you want to keep up with the world, you have to accomplish one thing every day that doesn’t have to be done that day and that you could put off for another day.”

It sounds simple.  It is, but simple doesn’t always mean easy.  I managed this the bulk of the time for the past couple of decades, but I am thinking that it has outlived its usefulness.  I suppose that it has to do with actually having enough time to get everything done every day.  As a matter of fact, it appears that rather than trying to jam too much into a day, I will now need to go the other way and try to make my appointed task last.  It sounds simple, but simple doesn’t always mean easy.
