Post-Impressionism / Ion Theodorescu-Sion/ Marina

I think that the first thing that one has to keep in mind is that when reading about the occult is not to keep a healthy scientific skepticism, but the opposite.  In order to even understand what folks are trying to get at, one doesn’t have to just suspend skepticism, one has to load it onto a rocket and fire it into the air.

The hardest part of the whole deal is that the bulk of things that you read seem to make their results opaque to the not very gentle ministrations of science.  A lot of them consider the learning of their craft to be trade secret, not to be accessible to the hoi polloi.

Now, I can’t cast aspersions here.  Science over the past century has been moving in the same direction.  Science is becoming increasingly opaque and jargon ridden.  Engineering isn’t quite as bad as the vast bulk of the work done in engineering relies on good old Newtonian physics.

So, I am struggling trying to figure out what the fuck these people are trying to say.  I almost want to invent a time machine just so I could go back in time and beat the fuck out of Aleister Crowley.
