Y'all have been listening to me rant about the unholy duopoly of Microsoft/Apple for years now.  I won't burden you with the details, simply say that both offenders really have a shit operating system that is more interested in making money for themselves and their allied corporate co-conspirators than actually delivering a secure and useful product.  Oh granted, their stuff is pretty, they have put a lot of time and effort into form disguising function, but let's be clear here, using these two systems is an open door to your computer.  The government and the industry hate hackers and penetration by freelance because they built in those doors and they are there for the powers that be alone.  They really take offense at anyone else grazing on their land.

Now, for those of you who trust the current marriage of government and the tech platforms, keep on keeping on.  You are probably just fine if you have bought into the system.  But if you are like me (best current description: Suspicious Curmudgeon) then you might want to ponder the statements made in the Slashdot story above.
