So, spent some time minding my own business on a Sunday morning. Did some laundry, polished off a pot of tea and did my diary entry. Life was pretty sheen.
Then I dropped by my usual haunts and there sat Ugo posting a piece that forced me to think hard. For christsakes Ugo, it’s a sunny, blue sky beautiful Sunday. The last thing I wanted to do today was to start thinking.
As you who display the poor time management skills to drop by here, Ugo took some time trying to tie together some threads about the scientific worldview and how we treat the world/each other. I realize that this make come as a late admission on the part of your humble correspondent, but Science really has become our dominant worldview/religion/belief system and it is in fact really corrupt.
Now, Having spent quite a few years as a pretty fair scientist kept me from doing this, but I walked away from that game in 2007 and while I have looked back, the frequency is almost down to nothing now.
What Ugo brought up to me is the simple fact that the dominant worldview always ends up being first tainted, then destroyed by money and power. Confucianism, Christianity, Science, Hinduism all probably started out well enough, but then money, prestige, and power over others intoxicated their practitioners and just kinda ruined things.
So, now that faith is science is vanishing, and the greater bulk of Christianity never recovered from their fall, what comes next?
I don’t have a clue.
