Getting to the Grind
Dec. 27th, 2018 06:03 amNew Boss at work. Nice kid, but there are a lot of nice kids out there. I'll guess that she will figure it out after a while. She came into a bit of a clusterfuck and it will take a while to un-CF the problem, if such a thing is even possible in the incredibly odd system that is the VA.
I am coming out of the Christmas blahs a little bit. I am making plans and settling into the idea that coasting is the way to go. I think that a lot of folks find the idea of a senior citizen slacker somewhat uncomfortable, the way that I see it, it is the only way to go. But to get there, I gotta muddle through four more years. Not that hard, and barring the arrival of some strange apocalypse, imminently doable.
I can't say that I am hopeful for the arrival of a sudden renaissance, I think that kind of thing is behind us, I can't say I am fearful of a sudden apocalypse, I think that kinda thing is far ahead of us. I think that we are on a shallow downhill, which is merely moderately annoying, because slight downhills are remarkably easy, both in the real world and the world of metaphors.
