We live in a country of con men and salesmen.  Top to bottom.  Side to side, it is our defining characteristic.  It is important to remember what salesmen live for: money and the kill.  

All of our so-called leaders are salesmen.  They sell us what we want to know and what we think that they can give us.  Biden is a salesman, Kamala is a salesperson.  They both know what their target market wants and they will move heaven and earth to make the pitch to make the sale.  Like all of sales, truth and the stretching of the same is part and parcel of the pitch.  Trump was a salesman.  He targets a less affluent, less educated market segment.  

In a sense the election this year is all about style.  Very little substance is on offer.  Biden offers the well groomed and dressed Cadillac salesman who deigns to speak to you if he senses you have money.  Trump is the used car salesman with rings and loud suits who manages to offend polite society (Best analogy is the Rodney Dangerfield character in Caddyshack).

Really folks, you gotta remember what the game is.  The game is about making the sale and all else, truth, dignity, the actual ability to deliver on the promises are secondary minor annoyances compared to making the sale.

We are taking delivery now.  The Caddy we bought was used and has too many miles on it and has a suspicious knock.  I have a feeling that folks may well be surprised to find that it really isn’t any better than our trade in.
