Up early today, coffee is made and I actually feel reasonably good.  Maybe not drinking for a couple of days now and again might have some merit.  Not rushing to judgement though.  Maybe tonight will be a (1) twelve ounce cider as an experiment in the realm of punctuated virtue.  

Screed:

You know, I am thinking that we are being a bit prima donna-ish of late.  Everyone I know kinda agreed that the good times were probably going to end at some point.  After all, geezers like your humble correspondent have been talking about the good old days and how spoiled the damn kids are.  Well buckaroos, what us geezers gotta start admitting is that the only reason that the damn kids are the way that they are is us.  

Us boomers grew up spoiled, and we felt the need to spoil our kids even worse.  Now hard times are hitting and nobody gets spoiled anymore.  I begin to think that maybe folks are protesting too much.  The boomers are bitching because they thought that they would be able to avoid the reckoning by the simple expedient of dying.  The X's and Millennials were always sure (correctly) that us boomers were full of shit because the ride was sweet.  

Well, every one knew the reckoning was coming, but thought that it wouldn't apply to them.  Hell, even Greta, who chastised the known world about their activities bitched about the quality of the first-class train service in Germany.  Expectations are just not being met.

Well buckaroos, welcome to the land of diminished expectations.  We are going to have a lot less in the none-too distant future.  The cookie jar is bare and the cookies are evaporating quickly.  Everyone kinda saw it coming, but somehow it wouldn't apply to them.  

Well buckaroos, the time is now.  Get figuring out how to hunker down and do with less.  You will need to be comfortable with yourself, I would start that journey.  It is cheap and rewarding.  Because all the little vanities that you had and that will be evaporating in the none too distant future won't be there to distract you any more.
