I am not ashamed

Overall, and I am saying this with extensive caveats, I now have hope we are into spring.  High thin clouds today, barometer up a little above 30.2 and temp is nice at 47℉ and might make it up to 60℉

I suppose that I ought to take politics more seriously, but like the weather that I am trying to keep in the habit of reporting, it is a phenomenon that has an effect on me but that I have no ability to control.  I do love reading about it and I love my barometers and thermometers (I am considering a wind gauge).

Back in the dark past of the sixties, there was the “Weather Underground”.  Like most of the sixties movements, it was built around people who thought that their opinion mattered and other people should agree with them.  They were wrong then, they are wrong now.  (BTW:  Subterranean Homesick Blues was a pretty good song).

We are going through it again.  I really hope that Trump will flash a double peace sign while stepping off Marine One to complete the cycle for me.

Everyone is freaking out about the sound and fury signifying nothing that is coming out of Washington.  The presidency has been reduced to a back and forth between the two parties where the current/previous president/candidate one party is the Goldstein for the other party and the power of the institutional government remains the same despite any efforts being made.

Look, we are still in the good times.  Granted, eggs and coffee prices have made our preferred breakfast more expensive, but we can complain all we want, but the truth is we can still afford them.  The machinations and shuffling of bureaucracies in the swamps between Maryland and Virginia are like the weather.  Maybe, rather than listen to a Dylan song from 1965 we ought to go forward ten years and listen to “Shelter From the Storm”.

I think I will price some wind gauges
