Well: That was interesting. Looks like things are getting hinkey and the folks of the old-time resistance who rooted on the riots here in Stumptown that supported their version of justice are now desperately clutching their pearls about sauce for the goose as being sauce for the gander.
Really, you didn’t see this coming?
Political violence is a knife with no handle, it ends up cutting the people that try to use it. The boojie left whipped up the crowds to violence to support their worldview and sense of justice. Now that the deplorable right has responded, the pearl-clutchers are squawking like a wet hen.
You can almost hear the words “Those people” forming in their minds.
What I am thinking is coming next is the front-line angry that are seen in the streets of Portland and on the Capital steps are going to take a little break and think about things. What they might start thinking about (heaven forbid) is that the folks that are currently moving the pieces about aren’t doing it for the BLM or the Proud Boys benefit, and they will see that they have been played for the elite’s power games.
I don’t think that, when all this is figured out, that the two spearpoints will like the idea at all.
I think that the BLM crowd will figure it out first. Because Biden/Harris sure ain’t going to do a damn thing to help them. I am almost certain that the now gun-shy congress will start distributing the masses their bread in order to calm them down. But truthfully, that can’t last and the money will end up going to the banks and corporations anyway. When that is spent and all the wallpaper covering the problem set that we really face starts peeling, we will have a set of folks who will tie the idea of riots to payoffs and then the cycle will restart.
So I am thinking this next couple of months will start interesting, the inauguration might well be really weird, and there is quite a bit coming for this next act of the carnival. But i tend to think that things will die down in February or March and give the angry non-elites time to lick their wounds and come up with something interesting.
The trouble is that the Parties that rule the political landscape are both quite morally bankrupt. Have been for years come to think of it. Now they have made the mistake of using street violence to further political goals. Whew, no history majors in this crowd. Because the street violence is now to the level of not being a tool anymore. The folks that are using violence have a set of defined beliefs that both sides of the elites don’t have any sympathy for and merely attempt to use as a control mechanism for their own plans.
We are getting to the point of nights of the knives.
Best to shut up and keep low.
