The Great and Poweful

Back to the salt mines today. I figure that I am above 90% and that is good enough for now. I need to get out of the apartment. Starting to close in on me a bit.
Well, I figure that Trumpy will get the boot today. No loss. I suppose it is the first step to becoming Goldstein. Good and bad.
What is happening now is that the elites are going to attempt to consolidate their power. I have a sneaking hunch that we are going to be running into the buzzsaw now. The elites will do what they do at all times e.g.: feather their own nest. Power will be handed to the technocrats and neoconservatives and they will attempt to continue their consolidation of power that Fuckwad the First so rudely interrupted.
Now we will see. I love the folks that are high-fiving and celebrating the “victory”, they kinda remind me of the scene at the first of the Wizard of Oz where the refrain of “Ding-Dong the Witch is Dead” came a ringing through Munchkinland. But you have to remember that entire movie. There are a lot of folks out there who fervently believe in the Emerald City. But belief ain’t enough. I think that while we might be marginally better under a Biden I administration that an Trump II administration, the cards are still stacked against the poor senile bastard. I have a sneaking hunch that Biden ain’t gonna be able to do a damn thing about what is facing us.
Everything that was facing us in 2020 is still sitting there, being patiently ignored while we focus on a carnival side-show. When the theatrics are done in a couple of weeks, we will be the unwilling audience of a show consisting of people who have no real interest in our well-being try to stretch the policies and beliefs that got us to where we are now over the cruel realities that the world has on offer. Those individuals are the folks who were instrumental in the Clinton-Bush-Obama consensus that got us to where we are now. Trump tried to change the direction a little, but failed miserably because first and foremost he was a ham-handed clown.
All the problems that the national obsession with an aging reality show star pushed to the back of our group consciousness are still there. The environment, oil depletion, military buffoonery, and incipient national bankruptcy are still cards being dealt.
Nope, we are just setting out on the yellow brick road on the way to visit the great and powerful Oz, but the yellow brick road looks suspiciously the color of police tape and as anyone who watched the movie every year as a child knows, the folks that they hope will get them out of the mess that they are in aren’t really up to the task and they will have to do it themselves.
So, get back to it, start deconstructing your “life” to define what it is you really need and focus on the task of being able to take a punch.
Because it doesn't really matter who has their hand on the bible in two weeks, the punch is coming.
