Nothing new to report.  Still going into work.  Still questiong what all the foofooraw is about.  Talked with one of the maintenance dudes at the VaSpa yesterday.  They are busting butt.  The reaction to the RONA is forcing them to work their asses off.  as the powers that be are planning for the worst.  But they even have it worse.  They feel that all the work that they are doing is going to be torn down in the none-too-distant future when the threat goes away.  

Screed:

I am more and more coming to the uncomfortable thought that this is a bigger mess and a bigger problem that the surface phenomenon suggest.  I am officially in the state of WTF.  I would love to be able to outline in detail my misgivings, but they are too vague for that.  The science seems sketchy.  The responses seem sketchy, the solutions seem sketchy.  The whole thing doesn't appear to have a shred of sense attached to it.  This appears to have systematically moved from the realms of drama to tragedy to farce in seemingly record time.

I keep going to the data and I don't like what I see.  The data itself is equivocal.  The presentation of the data to support the views of the establishment is masterful.  Voices of dissent and questions are berated as something less than human.  

I don't know.  History might be a guide here.  History and a inkling of humility in the recognitions that we are a part of nature and nature has a say, and that history itself has show that we have been here before.  

I am not offering any suggestions here, this is way beyond my ken.  But bigger forces are at work here.  I just need to figure out how to get out of the way when the elephants dance.
