The launch of an insurgency
Mar. 2nd, 2020 05:35 amI was remarkable in my sloth yesterday. Now, I did some simple things. Did some laundry, baked pesto rolls, cleaned the kitchen a bit (floor still needs sweeping/mopping) cooked some beans. In other words, pleasant domestic shit. Got to sit down and read for a while, listened to music on the headphones. Other than the wander over to the laundry room, didn't even bother to leave home save for some sitting on the porch in the sun when it bothered to poke it's head out.
Screed:
I kind of think what we're going looking at right now with the election going the way that it seems, is that we are looking at the launch of an insurgency. I doubt seriously that Bernie Sanders will be the candidate of the democratic party in 2020. Just ain't going to happen if it does happen, I'll be happy because that will delay the insurgency for another four years-from-now candidate.
This is strictly a greedy thing on my part. I have already concluded that I will be lucky if I get out of here with a reasonable facsimile of genteel poverty and a middling portion of my savings. I am starting the search for the landing points near agricultural areas and water and a current state of diminishing population density.
Because no matter who wins, the American two-party system is in the process of killing itself. The Republicans sold out years ago, the Democrats more recently but in a spectacularly vulgar manner. So we have two corrupt political parties presiding over an election that seem to be going out of their way to present candidates to the public that have nothing on their mind but the preservation and fortification of a status quo that reduces the common person to a serf.
Even poor out-of-date Bernie (who I will vote for on the off chance he is the candidate) will probably not stem the revolution. But he just might delay the appearance of the pitchforks and torches long enough for me to get out.
