Symbolism / Paul Gauguin/ Working the land

That podcast Joe so graciously referred me to has got me thinking.

Now, Joe and Mike and my close friends have been hearing me state that I wasn’t all that worried aboutTrump, what I was worried about is what came after Trump.  This is still my mindset and the podcast that I listened to seems to bear out some of my fears.  Granted, I did expect that this would be in the four to eight years from now kinda timeframe, but it looks as though I should spend a little time unpacking the specifics of the post-trump era.

First and foremost we are going to have to weather the “winner take all” mentality that is the name of the game in the current political climate.  I am not saying either party “started it” or which party “did it last” but we will have to get through the idea that in a split country where 48% of the population voted against you, you don’t start acting like you have a mandate.  The problem is that both parties are trying to shove an unpalatable set of prescriptions down the other half’s throat without paying any attention to the other.

The best part about all this is when the other half complains, then the nasty comes out.  Any pushback against the Democrats and you are a racist/sexist.  Any pushback against the Republicans and you are a Communist.

Now, I expect to be considered a racist/sexist/communist here in the none-too-distant future.  Because while Trumpy and the Republicans who used him for cover while fucking the country over didn’t move one smidgen off the mark for solving our problems.  Now that the Dem’s are at bat, the will bring back their flavor of problem avoidance and manufacture to add to those of the Republicans.  So what we will get is more of the way that we have been moving.  I am betting you that there will be a bipartisan consensus on bringing the boot down.

Because both parties recognize that the extremes are going to upset the applecarts of the elite if things get rolling.  So expect that the censorship shown by the electronic gang will be doubled down on and the boogaloo boyz and antifa will be shown that their efforts are not appreciated in quite drastic terms.

So, I will sit back here in my secure little niche and will watch the party from the comfort of my kitchen table.  Those folks who comprise the Biden administration have a long history sending folks to jail for transgressing.  They have a history of giving the military a long leash.  They, as much as the Republican have a history of being in rich folk’s pockets.  None of them appear to be above graft.

So, really, I don’t see any change a comin’.  I will get a check deposited soon that I didn’t earn.  The social media and the more traditional media will spin that things are rosy now that the bad man is gone.  The military will start preparing all those expensive toys that we bought them, and the FBI and law enforcement will be unleashed on the extremes.

Nope.  The party is starting….I hope like hell I am wrong….

You Gotta Serve Somebody

This would be part of my view; the larger point being that you need to investigate and understand the goal that people/groups have. Trump needed the support of many groups that used his presidency as a means to their ends. It seems to me that the psychologist sees everybody having the same goals and therefore a lot of people look like they are acting crazy and falling for Trump’s nonsense. Perhaps they were not falling for anything; perhaps they were accepting Trump because they were using his presidency as means to THEIR ends.

I still say that if you are reduced to employing something from psychology, you might as well roll dice or consult an equivalent science like astrology.

BACKWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS

I think the US has been attacked by Christian soldiers and distracted by QAnon soldiers. Never mind the dope Pence, look at Barr and Pompeo, and consider the possibility that they are first and foremost Christian zealots. To define zealot, it means one devotes their life to serving God and country, with the caveat that the purpose of the country, is to serve God. This defines patriotism for certain men and groups.

Consider the project for Barr. His goal is for the US to be a Christian Nation from top to bottom. Question: in all history, has a culture ever returned to a god/religion after the religion had its day and was fading away or superseded?

Never mind that little detail, Barr is in essence a missionary who wants a president with unrestricted powers, because that is the only way at this point that a fading religion might be brought back to run the show. In other words, Barr’s goal is the opposite of the fundamental principle of separating church from state, because he is a zealot, and his mission is religious, not judicial. All the substantial criticism of Barr has been based on his legal judgement; but Barr has been reporting to God, not his occupational peers.

It may end up saving the country a lot of trouble, that Barr’s big opportunity to serve the Lord by giving future Christian presidents unrestricted power, involved Donald Trump. If having presidents with more power is the requirement to remake the US into a good Christian Nation - like it was before and after the civil war, then God instructed everybody to disregard William Barr, by creating Donald Trump from Fred Trump’s loins.

Praise the Lord …. and pass the ammunition to Pompeo. (Great song and perhaps the greatest white spiritual)

Pompeo’s mission extended beyond Barr’s but only territorially; his project is to make the whole world Christion. Once a president with more power makes the US a Christian Nation, then effort can begin in earnest to continue God’s work throughout the world. Look at what Pompeo did trying to keep Trump in power. He had Rudy running a political shitshow in foreign countries to help win the next election, years in advance. When Bolton calls a project a drug deal, it has to be bad. But no project is out of bounds for Pompeo because his real boss is the Lord, and he needed Trump to serve the Lord.

Why did Pompeo just yesterday make a point of saying that multiculturalism is not what the US is? If the US is a conglomerate of people from all over, then the expectation must be that people can forget their initial culture, and stop being affected by it, anytime they wish. Pompeo was wrong; to be truthful, he should have said that HE (not we) did not want any cultural influence that is not Christian.

My point is that the policies of the DOJ and the State Department have been serving religion - not the people – to a much greater degree than has been recognized. In fact, I think, for practical purposes, they were serving religion period. Thank God that Trump was grossly incompetent.

Question: of all that might be judged reprehensible about the Trump era, which element was the worst? My vote goes to the group referred to as the Christian Evangelicals; I find them to be the most reprehensible element in the US.

The norm has been a DOJ and State Department operating mostly on the basis of greed. As bad as the norm might be, at least greed is rational, and nuclear bombs ruin all the stuff that money might buy. A billionaire does not want to blow up everything, but a religious zealot certainly might, by definition. I think we just dodged a bullet to a greater degree than is recognized – thanks to Fred Trump’s lousy parenting skills.
