Impressionism / Samuel Mutzner/ Springtime in Balcic

I suppose that we as a country and as individuals think that rules are critical to living.  This supposition is correct in the sense that following rules is essential to a healthy society.

But the rules that folks are laying down are getting progressively more transparent in their attempts to benefit the rulemakers at the expense of the rule-followers.

The most transparent of these myriad attempts by the PMC here in the once-central and essential country is the “rules-based international order”.  This was always an Anglo-American construct that we suckered Europe into thinking it would benefit them and then foisted it onto the rest of the world.  Worked for a while.  It’s falling apart now.

This is a resource war.  Not gonna be fun and it looks like we stand to lose even if we win.

But the war isn’t one that is played out over the headlines.  Those are pretty much distractions to keep the proles amused and worked up.  Nope, the war is at a deeper level of who is in charge and who should do as they are told.

The enemy of the folks whose privileges are being challenged are fighting to maintain their privilege.  The players that oppose them are growing every day with every crappy job and every scheme to get things back under their thumb that they try to pull off.

Nope, things aren’t gonna get better for a while because they are losing a little bit more ground every day.
