I am in a condition where I am effectively snowed in (yes, I know how to drive in snow, but I can assure you that no more than 20% of the population here in Riot-town is so equipped).

Everyone in my little complex is hunkered down, so I am looking out at a fairly pristine mini-expanse of snow in my courtyard and some trees with branches coated with snow and ice.  Kinda pretty, but that can only be properly appreciated by looking out a window from a warm apartment while wearing a hoodie and a watch cap.  

I will probably be isolated for a couple of days until this cold front moves through and things warm up enough to melt the ice.  The big trouble with Portland snow is that it seems to snow, then followed up with cold/frozen rain, then followed up by a freeze that allows for a remarkably slippery amalgam of fall-on-your-ass-and-break-a-hip.  No thank you.

Gonna survey the pod soon, figure out what to do today to bide my time.
