Little Exceeding

First day back from the yearly excess up in the forest by Sisters. Whew, I am definitely going to be dialing things back for the rest of the week. Rest and just getting by will be the order of the day, and it will be the order of the day for the rest of the week.
Today's screed
Talking with friends like mine always is enlightening. The odd part is what is enlightened. As always with old men, our conversations steer toward the political and then the venom stream toward the fuckwad at 1600 Pennsylvania begin flowing like a stream. I have a feeling that some consider it a righteous stream of justified indignation flowing like a clear mountain brook.
My take on it after tasting is a bit different.
The fuckwad is never going to be thought of well in the history books, but he really isn't the source of all evil in the world as the Wokesters imagine. I can't really say that the bulk of his decisions have been good, but truthfully, I can't with good conscience say that he has done that poorly. The decisions that he has made are usually fraught with problems, and usually involve taking away a share of the pie from some group who will loudly proclaim their right to that part of the pie. But in truth, in a time of regression, somebody has to give up something, and he is just trying to figure out how to deal with managing decline, a job that no one else who has held the office of the President has even attempted.
Now, I can imagine that folks out there that have taken the time to notice the putrescence surrounding "45" will take me to task that he hasn't chosen the "best way". I won't even contest them, he hasn't chosen the best way because such a thing doesn't exist.
Donald Trump was a piss poor choice for the country to make. But the situation we are in is piss-poor and what I see as the possible outcomes are not good for anyone. We are first and foremost a broken and collapsing empire. I think that the anger being directed toward a man whose is inadequate to the task given him is misplaced. At the end of the day, I think that Donald Trump will be the fall guy to take the blame for the forty years of mistakes started by Reagan and propagated through the presidents holding the office since.
