Harlem Renaissance (New Negro Movement) / Horace Pippin/ The Wash

Gonna try and start buckling down.  I have had ideas for a trashy fiction noven beating about in my head for a year or so now and I think that I am getting close to starting (or restarting, the original foray just petered out after a bit).

I am going to be a parasite and riff off of the “Weird of Hali” world.  Might have to be really cheeky and hijack a minor character.  Doing this has its own problems.  I will need to get permission and then need to work in the timeline already set up by the good Mr. Greer.  The other option is to bring in another character and attach it to a character in the mythos.

I think that the idea of working within a mythos like that of Lovecrtaft and his mirror Greer offers a lot of structure that my writing needs.  I really am not all that good at creating alternate universes, but I suppose that it is within my skills to decorate a small corner of one.

I think that the character will need be an old man.  After all, gotta write about what you know.  I think that I will spend a little time reading John Scalzi’s “Old Man’s War” for ideas.  

Putting words down on paper (or as variations in a rectangle of LCD’s) is probably going to be a major piece of my being able to accomplish something in the none-too-distant future.
