Republic of China (1912–1949) / Wu Guanzhong/ Blossom Out

Monday Morning coffee and cruising.  Things out on the big planet seem to be in a holding plan.  I guess I am OK with that.  We seem to have been in a period defined by people waiting anxiously for the next bit of bad news to tell them that their lives are changing and the world around them is going to be different.

Now, I can’t really say that this is a bad way (other than the anxiety bit) to approach the problem.  The world is changing around you.  Simple is that.  You just got used to the idea that tomorrow was always gonna be slightly better.  I have no idea where you got that idea, but you obviously didn’t really take anything like a history class.  What serves as history classes here in the US is that trite little American Government and History class that all the high schools, colleges, and universities foist off on unsuspecting freshmen.  You all remember those classes don’t you?  They were the ones that told us we were the bestest thing ever to hit the planet.

I think that a lot of the folks out there are just kinda hunkering down.  The Rona taught them that they can have a less commercially satisfying life.  I can’t see us getting by with going back to the fat, dumb, and happy days that we all miss.  The country is gotta go back to payback mode sometime in the not too distant future.  Taxes are going to go up.  Prices are going to go up because the corporate types aren’t going to absorb those higher tax costs, no buckaroos, those taxes will end up being paid by us.

That rich cocksucker Bill Gates is out there telling us the truth about the future.  Can’t stand the man, but he is telling us the truth.  His message is simple:  Rich assholes like him got us here, we can't continue the way that we are going, so all you lowlifes get used to sucking it, it won’t be all that bad.

Bill is being truthful.  The planet is kinda fucked up and we are going to have to (a) clean up the mess and (b) learn not to mess in the first place.  I really can’t begrudge him the truth of that particular statement.  Truthfully, his plan seems pretty truthful.  Oh there are parts like thinking that vat-grown meat will be a thing or that vaccines are the solution to everything and people can all live to a gazillion years old.  That is just sales.  Nope, Billy boy is telling us the truth.

What pisses me off is it won’t apply to him, and he is one of the biggest reasons we are here in the first place

“They were careless people, Tom and Daisy — they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.”
