Slope of Hope

Getting close to the mark. I can’t say that things will be getting better anytime soon, but I think that they will do what politicians usually do in failed wars, declare victory and withdraw.
Now there are a lot of folks out there who will fervently espouse the idea that with the absence of fuckwad the first, the “witch is dead” and the world will now be right. I kinda hope that does happen because maybe folks will calm the fuck down.
The problems that we faced during Trump aren’t going anywhere. The cack-handed solutions proposed by the elites so that they can remain elites are going to be trotted out, dressed up in new clothes, but will be the same failed set of policies that got us here in the first damn place.
Look, Trumpy-doodle didn’t do anything that radically different than the Clinton-Bush-Obama consensus. Matter of fact, the rich that are getting richer and the poor that are getting poorer have been on a negative slope for fifty-some-odd years now and the process itself is accelerating.
So I am in the process of “wait and see”. I think that there is an off chance that the geriatric one will decrease the slope of the downward line, but he sure as hell ain’t going to get it going upward. That hoped-for reversal is a vain hope. But I am hoping that there will be some mitigation of the most egregious policies that shelter the elites and the boojies from the pain of the rest of the country.
I think that things might be going in a positive direction for a while now. But truthfully, I think a second term of fuckwad would have given us pretty much the same results. I am not guessing that we are at the bottom, but I think that there might be a chance that the slope of decline might finally stop plummeting and the negative increase in M that has been so evident for the past sixteen years may be moderating. Big hope is that over the next eight years things can level out.
But here is where things will get problematic. We have an idea in this society that the future will be better than the present. What might need to happen is that folks will have to decide that what they have is enough. That is going to be one tough sell, one that will take a generational change to make.
So right now, I am giving fuckwad the second the benefit of the doubt. Truthfully, the chance of him actually doing worse that=n trumpenstein is around 30% so I am going to figure he will be just as bad or maybe a little better.
Might as well hope that way, after all, I am used to being disappointed so I got nothing to lose.
