Playin' hookey today.  In the current plan, I have to burn up one sick day every three weeks to have things zero out when I retire.  Tough work to do, but I think that I am up to the task

You see, I am placing my bets that it will take around three years before the fewmets hit the rotating blades in a serious way.  I am hoping that I can get out of the way before this happens.  I am giving this a 65:35 chance of happening the way that I want it to.  Not bad odds.  I have bet a lot on worse odds.

I am not really bothered about this little inconvenience.  I suppose JMG's little quip in the long ago of "Collapse Now, Avoid the Rush" had a pretty profound effect on yours truly.  If by collapse you merely mean going to an energy utilization state that reflects reality versus your desires.

Trying to get a handle on whether or not the riots around the country are going to have an impact on the overall election.  Now, the Democrats seem to have little thought about a strategy other than "We're not Trump".  Now, in most times, that might be a workable strategy.  But these aren't most times.  I find it interesting that the two states that flipped and gave Trump the election in 2016 were midwest states, Minnesota and Wisconsin.  I ain't saying that these states are the epicenter of the current round of corona-boredom rioting that is occurring, but they are close.

I am arguing here not for the justice needed, but from the desire of the privileged to remain that way.  Simply put:  I think that racial injustice is out of control here in the USA, and the biggest utter and complete incomprehension that white folk will have to take a marginally lower standard of living to raise the standard of living of others.  Even liberals don't buy that.

So, here is the deal, first and foremost, analysis is not advocacy.

First, let's take a look at the socioeconomics of each of these two states

Wisconsin Income Distribution

Minnesota Income Distribution

Seems to me, from a look at these numbers, that these states aren't in that bad of shape.  But you have to drill down.  Take a serious look at income by race and then compare that to percentage population by race.

Wisconsin Race and Ethnicity

Minnesota Race and Ethnicity

Look:  These two swing states are pearly white.  The whites there have it pretty good.  There aren't many blacks and they are pretty damn ghetto-ized.   I am thinking that the riots there are going to swing the voters against Biden unless he comes out and advocates giving the rioters a good stomping.  This won't hurt his chances overall.  The majority white-folk will respond to him protecting their shit from the black folk, and the black folk are a sufficiently small number that their voting block is inconsequential anyway.

But Biden is in kind of a bind right now when it comes to this.  Look, the bastard WROTE all the laws that Kamala used so liberally to jail blacks at an astonishing rate, so let's not for a moment think that he doesn't see Hillary's "superpredators" just as clearly as she did.  Kamala is Hillary with a surplus of melanin.  So the problem for Biden is one of timing and backbone.  He is trying to play himself off as a kinder and gentler Joe Biden.  The squishy wing of the Democratic party insist on this kind of charade.  If Biden is to win, I am thinking that he will have to come out and advocate a stomping of the rioters soon if he is going to win.

After all, in the words of a remarkably astute politician in the past:  "Where else are they going to go/"
