Monday Morning:

Major day of hanging out and cleaning yesterday.  It was one of those fake-spring days that puts gladness in one's heart.  The doors and windows were thrown open all day, the sweater was on and the house aired out.  Managed to get the cider into the fernenter, cookies baked, house cleaned, and dinner cornbread.

People who aren't utterly grateful for these kind of days are of questionable spirit.

Sunday Afternoon:

I am writing this on Sunday afternoon.  I suppose it is a bit of an odd post.  But I needed help with musical terms so I turned to one of my Deputy-Daughters, the one with the masters in Musicology for help.  This is the text of the email I had asking for help.

Since this is one of the things I am working on, and help is being requested, I am posting it as a remembrance for when (or if) I get the project done, I will have a record of folks who helped so I can shower them with gratitude, but no co-authorship.

Enough quoting of Neil Young:

Books os proceeding as expected.  I have decided on how I will now structure the prose.

I will have an approximate 5,000 word prologue.

Then I will have 10 chapters of around 10,000 words each.   Right now, these are just called chapters.  I am considering having a

Each of these chapters will consist of three parts:  The first, as told from the point of view of a young God will be labelled Leitmotif.  Each leitmotif section will be consist of approx 2,000 words.  Naming will be in the format "LEITMOTIF ONE", where one is the chapter number from one to ten.

Following he leitmotif will be the main body of the chapter as told from the protaganist in this world.   I am currently planning around 6,000 words for this section in each of the chapters.  I am currently calling this BODY.  I will follow the same naming protocol for BODY (E.G. BODY THREE)

The last part of each chapter will be told from the point of the protaganist in dreams.  It will attempt to tie the action in the protagonist's dreams to the events in the mundane world.  Again, the same naming protocol will apply (e.g. DREAM SEVEN).  This section will be around 2,000 words.

Following the ten chapters, there will be an epilogue.  I am planning for this to be in the 5,000 to 10,000 word range.

So, what I wonder, and I defer to you musical expertise, what musical nomenclature/slang could be used in place of the words:

Prologue,
Chapter,
Body, and
Dream
Epilogue

That are the names for approximately the same divisions in a piece of music.

I am thinking about weaving a lot of music stuff throughout this work, and want to have the structure names reflect that.
