Went to Cash and Carry yesterday (yeah, I know, that isn’t it’s name anymore) to check out supplies.  Well, the shelves were looking pretty threadbare.  I think that folks know which way the wind is blowing and are hunkering down.  I picked up another twenty pound bag of rice, ten pounds of lentils, and five pounds of coffee.  I am thinking about maybe going back today for a big bottle of caldo de pollo and some cheap pork to freeze down.

I am resisting the urge to buy toilet paper.  For some reason that just smacks of desperation.  But I will decide on the fly today.

I am trying not to go into full-on prepper mode.  But the current conditions and actions make it hard to do so.  There are a lot of other things going on in my life right now that makes me question the validity of my paranoia, so I have to be careful.  But I am thinking that maybe, just maybe I need to get myself into a position where I can take a financial hit.  I am basically there, I just need to brace myself for boredom.

I am trying to spend more time writing.  I will probably just keep using this as a diary with no change to habits here.  I need to work on a schedule for writing the Great American Trashy Novel (GATN).  As it stands, I seem to write better in the morning, but while I am still employed, that means waking this tired old carcass earlier, and that dog don’t hunt.  So I will need to go into self-discipline mode and create a schedule where I come home, put something on the stove for dinner, and sit down and write for an hour.   When March rolls around, I will be able to carve out a morning writing schedule.

We will see how things go.  Right now I am in pretty good shape in the grand scheme of things.  But it appears to me that the grand scheme of things might be a-changin’.
