Smells Like

I really don’t have a dog in this particular fight. Last time I looked, medical advice should be evaluated by the individual and fit into their own personal risk management protocols.
I have a sneaking hunch that what is going on here smacks of desperation. Whose desperation is hard to say. I am smelling fear and desperation coming in from all sides.
I have my J&J vaccine safely stored in my left arm. It arrived there the first day that the VAspa released it here in puddletown. It never caused me a lick of trouble and the boyos (two healthy 20 year olds who snuck in and got their vaccines a while ago) had no problems whatsoever.
But I am thinking that in our cases, the vaccines were a bit of a waste. I can’t really say for certain, but I am more than reasonably confident that we wouldn’t have been a casualty regardless of vaccination status.
Truth be told, I waited for the J&J because it was adenovirus and single shot. I kinda figured that minimized my risk profile. The big factor in my decision was that if I had a vaccine, people would shut the fuck up and leave me alone.
But I am thinking that there is a bunch of desperation in the powers that be. The vaccine is not living up to promises, and there is money, power, and prestige on the line here. Desperation says double down. Since I am in compliance, the issues might not come my way directly.
But somehow, through the magic of greed, hubris, and distrust, governments around the world are doubling down and making efforts toward draconian measures. They are desperate to hide anything that suggests (and there are a myriad of suggestions out there) that they knew what they were doing when they started us down this particular primrose path.
So I expect that they will turn up the heat on the folks who don’t trust their asses. I am also expecting to start seeing articles about how the Rooskies or the Yellow Peril did this as a nefarious scheme.
When the times get weird, the weird go pro.
