Gonna be hot.  Apparently damn hot.  This weekend looks to be around 100+ here and that is never a good time.  Now a lot of y’all will point to this as yet another nail in the coffin.  But since this happened 12 years ago, I can’t say this came as a surprise.  

So this weekend will be hunkering down and implementing all the little strategies that allow one to survive the heat.  Lots of water, fans running, stay in the shade, don’t go out.  Waking up early is essential, mornings on hot days are sweetness.  Throw open all the windows and reposition the fans to blow in all that 60° coolness then when the temp starts going up, button the place up tight to keep the cool inside and the hot outside.  

Need to find some new books to read.  Morning walks will be the only realistic exercise.  Might even watch something on the computer.  I know this sounds odd, but the last movie that I saw was Rogue One.  Maybe I will avail myself of the air conditioned sweetness of a sticky-floored movie theater.

But today is in the 80’s and the sky is blue.  I will take my get to work and get home walks and maybe stop for a cold one at Decibel.  Sitting at a barstool in an air-conditioned pub is a certain way to beat the heat.  

Coe to think of it, I think that I will try to reserve a barstool for this weekend.
