Less than five hundred days to go.
Gotta potter around the house this weekend. Do some moderately serious cleaning and pickup, bottle a batch a cider, brew a batch of beer, maybe start working out how to do a grain mash for distillation.
There are definite advantages to having a small place. Cleaning things is easy and having a hard cap on the amount of crap you are able to have due to room constraints is oddly freeing. But with that, and the upcoming exit of the workforce, and probable relocation, I have had to come up with small systems to do the basics of life. I think that I have brewing/cidermaking infrastructure. The distilling structure is in place for sugar washes and I don’t think that it will be that difficult to bring in mashes. Books are good with multiple methodologies for reading. Computers such as my current axes (older laptops, stripped and refitted with Linux) are all operational and readily available.
I am grudgingly accepting the nature of the cell phone and it’s uses. So communication is taken care of, though doing this will limit the areas that I am looking at for residence.
After the Walla Walla debacle, with the discovery of a particularly virulent infestation of Californians, I think that I will need to find out which places have a cultural immunity to this kind of thing.
