Whew:

I am thinking that the wind is changing.  Let’s talk a minute about the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.  Now there are a lot of folks out there who don’t pay much attention to these guys, but I have always found their work to be a serious and thoughtful take on things.  They really aren’t screechy and they try to talk about complex issues in a manner that takes the issue apart and explains it to folks in a manner that increases understanding across the board.  They have never been that “popular” because of the nature of their work and their lack of constant preening and self promotion.

They just published one interesting article yesterday.  Now when you read it, I want you to keep one thing in mind, and in a sense this is a spoiler.  They simply point out that the source of the fucking COVID isn’t known and that there is no smoking gun anywhere.

But what they do is present what is being booted about in the scientific community and the theories and support for those theories.  It points out repeatedly the gaps in the knowledge which may never be filled and the possible players in the game.

Don’t kid yourself.  The article itself is a slog.  There are a lot of moving parts and you have to read the whole thing and pay attention.  Even then you won’t know the answer, but the question is superbly framed.

I can’t recommend strongly enough that you spend some time reading it.
