I am normally a sorta-fanatic about getting my vaccines. I am one of those weirdos who actually keep track of them. The only thing that I have pending right now is the measles booster shot.
I am usually in on the first day that the flu vaccine comes out every year. This year was no exception. I am going to go and check up on the status of my BCG vaccine soon. I think that I will be needing an update.
But I am going to continue refusing the COVID vaccine.
When folks ask me why I would do such a thing, the conversation is always weird. When I start discussing viral immune escape, the vagaries or an already infected person being injected with RNA and the response of reverse transcriptase and subsequent recombination events folks eyes glaze over and they start mouthing words about my “Ignoring the science”.
I am uncertain that the technology being shoved down our throats by the aficionados of prophylactic gene therapy is a long term good idea. I think that it has been pushed for profit and politics. Even the adenovirus vaccines now coming on line have some issues, but they seem to be fewer and less dire to me.
Finally, I question seriously the numbers being bandied about for prevalence and mortality. The PCR test used for the bulk of the diagnostic regimen was deeply flawed and gave a seriously inflated infection rate. It is odd to me that when the PCR cycles were “turned down” by the WHO from the ridiculous 30+ cycles, the infection rate went radically down.
Finally, there is the absence of any antibody testing to establish true infectivity and virulence. I have a sneaking hunch that such studies have been “back burnered” to disguise a much higher prevalence and a much lower mortality.
Too much of the “science” being touted is new and unproven and (to me) deeply suspect.
